Notarization, Certification, Authentication - Oh My!
Monday we got our last document notarized. Tuesday we were able to get our state certifications in Springfield. Wednesday we put our dossier in the mail to our agency. Yesterday (Thursday) it arrived in St. Louis at Children's Hope International. Today it is headed to the courier in Washington, D.C. who will walk it into the State Department and Ethiopian Embassy for authentication. Whew! That paperwork has been well travelled this week. When it arrives back to CHI (in a week or two) we will be added to the waiting list! Woo Hoo!
I've heard this adoption journey compared to a pregnancy. The paperchase that we are just finishing would be the first trimester. Second trimester involves waiting for our referral. Third trimester is traveling. We still have a good long way to go, but we are so thankful how God has led so far.
Here we are with our completed dossier all ready to head to the post office to put in an express mail envelope!
Brandon was our photographer - since the boys always think you should be allowed to pose for a "silly picture" after you do regular pics, this one was for him:

So glad this part is done! Hope the second trimester goes quickly! :)
YEAH!!!! Be sure to post your waiting list number. I would be curious to see how far it has grown. We are #49 and have been waiting 2 months next week on the 7th. It is a big relief to have that part done!
Yeehaw! A huge step in the process is behind you guys. I'm so very glad - can't wait to see you this weekend!
